$5,000 Basic Flat-Rate Divorce Mediation Option*
This flat-rate option is geared to the more simplistic divorce in which there are no serious disagreements about child custody, not a lot of assets and no self-employment or business interests to be divided. The services included in this flat rate are:
- Four hours of mediation time with attorney Bunmi Awoniyi
- All preparation time prior to each mediation session
- Attorney and staff time responding to telephone calls, e-mails and questions from the parties
- Preparation, service and filing of all initial documents, excluding court filing fees
- Preparation and filing of the marital settlement agreement
$6,500 Basic Plus Flat-Rate Divorce Mediation Option*
The Law Office of Bunmi Awoniyi offers this flat-rate option for parties who will likely need more attorney guidance on issues such as child custody and visitation, property division and support issues. This option includes six hours of mediation time and additional attorney time required to prepare the disclosure documents and marital settlement agreement, due to the nature and complexity of the issues involved.
Regular Mediation Option
Regular mediation cases are billed hourly. This option may be more affordable or more expensive than the Basic or Basic Plus flat rate options outlined above. Clients are billed at the attorney and support staff's prevailing hourly rates. An initial retainer of $3,500 is required to start the mediation sessions, and clients are required to maintain a trust balance of $1,000 at all times. The cost of mediation sessions and all related work are then deducted from the retainer.

* We recognize that sometimes unforeseen issues arise during mediation that need to be resolved so the parties can avoid going to court. If your issues become more complicated and cannot be concluded during the four or six hours of mediation included in the flat-rate options, any additional mediation sessions above and beyond the number allotted will be billed at the prevailing attorney hourly rate.
