Jennifer L. Hennessey Manning

Jennifer L. Manning practices immigration and naturalization law. She concentrates in the areas of family based immigration and consular processing, in addition to other immigration areas. Jennifer counsels clients on matters such as adjusting status to legal permanent residence, obtaining waivers for grounds of inadmissibility, consular processing and defending clients in removal proceedings.

Jennifer received her Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law in Rhode Island and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University at Chico. Jennifer is a licensed attorney in Massachusetts and able to represent immigration clients across the United States and at U.S. Consulates and Embassies around the world. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

Jennifer developed an interest in immigration law after her husband immigrated to the United States from New Zealand in 2002. They met while Jennifer was volunteering in New Zealand with the Department of Conservation. She understands firsthand the anxieties associated with the immigration process and being separated from family members while waiting for a visa to be approved. Jennifer is dedicated to assisting families become reunited with their loved ones as quickly as possible through immigration.

Jennifer handles each case with the highest level of competency. Her experience and attention to detail translates into successful applications for her clients. She works closely with her clients to identify their objectives and provide them with the best strategic plan to obtain legal status to remain here in the United States or to bring family members to the United States. Her practice focuses on all immigration matters including filings before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the National Visa Center, the Executive Office of Immigration Review, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.

Jennifer also enjoys serving immigrant communities through pro bono outreach activities. She has been an AmeriCorps volunteer with the Catholic Social Services Immigration Department in Providence, Rhode Island, where she worked primarily on family based immigration petitions and naturalization applications. She also assisted with a national citizenship campaign, Ya Es Hora, where she helped eligible members of the Rhode Island community apply for citizenship before the USCIS fee increase in 2007.

Additionally, Jennifer Manning is a Law Clerk for Bunmi Awoniyi on divorce and family law matters. She began working in Sacramento family law offices in 2001. Prior to going to law school, Jennifer was a family law paralegal at the Law Office of Bunmi Awoniyi. She has extensive experience preparing family law legal documents and working with clients to gather information and documentation required to resolve dissolutions of marriages, legal separations, child custody disputes, child and spousal support issues, and property settlements. She also assists Bunmi Awoniyi with divorce mediation. Jennifer is currently seeking admission to the California bar.
